Finally, the shaken driver turned around and, still catching his breath, said firmly, “Please… never do that again. You nearly scared the life out of me!”
The passenger apologized right away. “I’m so sorry. I honestly didn’t think a small tap would frighten you like that.”
The Twist
The cabbie exhaled, trying to calm down. “No, it’s really not your fault,” he said. Then he offered an explanation that put everything into perspective — and delivered the punchline of the whole situation.
